Have you come this far and started to see how powerful the flesh is to hypnotize us to hold onto the world? Can you feel the gravitational pull on your heart as it tries to free itself to be with God? Great news...Jesus can work it out.
1:15 27 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn 28 over all creation, 29
1:16 for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, 30 whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him.
1:17 He himself is before all things and all things are held together 31 in him.
1:18 He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn 32 from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things. 33
1:19 For God 34 was pleased to have all his 35 fullness dwell 36 in the Son 37
1:20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of his cross – through him, 38 whether things on earth or things in heaven.
He holds all things in His hands. ALL THINGS--wherever they are even in the darkest depths, even during the times we feel under the sea and unable to breathe--He is with Us and He holds all POWER. Oh my God, how I love you and praise you for the simplicity that you gave us in Your Word. How You knew we could jumble and bumble things but gave us a way to connect with you through prayer, meditation, reading your Word and Faith.
3:1 Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 3:2 Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth, 3:3 for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 3:4 When Christ (who is your 1 life) appears, then you too will be revealed in glory with him. 3:5 So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: 2 sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, 3 evil desire, and greed which is idolatry. 3:6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. 4 3:7 You also lived your lives 5 in this way at one time, when you used to live among them. 3:8 But now, put off all such things 6 as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth. 3:9 Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with its practices 3:10 and have been clothed with the new man 7 that is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it. 3:11 Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave 8 or free, but Christ is all and in all.
That is how we let go...read, study, memorize, meditate, pray, recite, hold onto His Word. All of our answers, the Balm of Gilead, salve for our wounds, hope for our dreams, healing for our bodies, strength for our minds, love for our families, joy for the morning and the night...all of it. In the palm of His Hands!
Be Blessed Beloved and have faith, pray for those who use you, love those who hate you, give to those who need, and believe in Him who gave you all things through His sacrifice...be washed in the mighty, saving power of His Blood. Love and peace until tomorrow, Sister Lisa
